West Hartford Man Charged with Running from Officers After Prowling Through Backyards, Caught by K-9

WEST HARTFORD, CT - Police charged a local man with prowling through West Hartford backyards on Monday.

Officers were first sent to Randal Avenue after receiving reports of people seeing the light from a cell phone outside their back door. They were unsure if they saw a person.

Units were dispatched to Knollwood Road approximately an hour later after a woman reported heard her sliding back door open and then close.

State Police K-9 units located Cody Farley, 19, of West Hartford hiding behind a tree on Vine Hill Road. The suspect allegedly refused to stop for officers and took off running through some backyards, and was eventually captured by the leg by a canine.

Farley also had three active PRAWN warrants for his arrest. The suspect was treated on the scene by medics, but refused to be transported to the hospital.

He was charged with Interfering with an Officer and Criminal Trespass third degree, as well as two Violation Of Probation warrants. Farley was held on bond.
