West Hartford Man Wins $43K In Lotto Game

The man bought the winning ticket at a Getty station on Park Road in West Hartford.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — A local man is more than $43,000 richer just for picking the right numbers in a Connecticut State Lottery Corp. game at the start of the month.

According to the Connecticut Lottery Corp., West Hartford resident Rajan Sapkota hit it big in the Cash 5 drawing, earning a payout of $43,029 on July 1.

Cash 5 is a daily numbers drawing and cost $1 to play, with a 50-cent "kicker" fee allowed to boost the odds per play. The highest someone can win is $100,000.

According to the Connecticut Lottery Corp., Sapkota purchased the winning ticket at K & S Getty in West Hartford on Park Road.
