West Hartford Mother Seeking More Help for Her Son to 'Avoid a Tragedy'
After reading the Adam Lanza report, the mother sees parallels in her son's behavior and is pleading for more individualized care at school.

In the wake of the report on Adam Lanza from the Office of the Child Advocate, a West Hartford mother is concerned that her son is capable of carrying out deadly violence and she is pleading with school officials to get her son help, according to WFSB 3.
WFSB reports that the mother said her son has violent tendencies that Lanza had and is starting to isolate himself and she is now suing the school system in an attempt to get her son more individualized care.
Eyewitness News did not identify the woman or her adopted 18-year-old son for privacy reasons.

The teen was diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome and psychosis by the time he was in high school and the mother told WFSB that he endured bullying while at Hall High School before being placed in an alternative educational program “Strive” which is next to Hall and later to the “Achieve” program.
However, she said nothing seemed to work and after drug tests an independent neuropsychological doctor concluded that “The student presents a high risk for unsafe behavior if enough structure and supervision is not available for him,” according to WFSB.
