West Hartford Nursing Home Fined by State Department of Public Health
The DPH recently handed out fines of more than $1,000 to seven facilities in the state.

A West Hartford nursing home was one of seven facilities recently fined more than $1,000 each by the state Department of Public Health, according to a report by the Connecticut Health I-Team.
Kate Farrish of the I-Team reports that West Hartford Health & Rehabilitation Center was fined $1,090 on Nov. 3 in connection with the cases of a resident who developed pressure sores in June. In its citation of the home, DPH concluded that the home failed to ensure that timely measures were taken to prevent or treat such sores, according to Farrish.
Theresa Sanderson, administrator of West Hartford Health & Rehabilitation Center, told Farrish that the home disagreed with some of the findings, but privacy laws prevent her from commenting about a specific resident.
