West Hartford Officials Among Area's Best 'Under 40'
The Hartford Business Journal has named the town's economic development director and deputy mayor to a prestigious list of leaders.
WEST HARTFORD, CT — Two local town officials have been named to a prestigious list of up-and-coming leadership professions, the town reported this week.
According to the Town of West Hartford's Facebook page, West Hartford Economic Development Coordinator Kristen Gorski and West Hartford Deputy Mayor Liam Sweeney were both named to the Hartford Business Journal's "40 under 40" list.
The annual ranking highlights individuals in Connecticut who are under the age of 40 making a difference in their chosen fields.

"Described as driven by success, motivated by challenges and held up as role models for their peers, these individuals are part of an outstanding class of business leaders who share a commitment to business success, personal growth, and community involvement," the Town of West Hartford posted via social media.
Gorski has been the town's EDC six years.

West Hartford wrote she "has played a critical role in attracting and facilitating more than $150 million worth of mixed-use development throughout town."
Sweeney is a principal at Penn Lincoln Strategies, a government and public affairs firm based in Hartford.
He has been on the town council since 2017 and in 2021 was selected to be deputy mayor.
An award ceremony is slated for Thursday, Sept. 22, at Rentschler Field in East Hartford.
