West Hartford Police Arrest 1 Man, 1 Juvenile Suspected in Connection with Recent Vehicle Burglaries

Police said the pair was found to be in possession of a screwdriver, flashlights and many stolen items.

WEST HARTFORD, CT - Police arrested one adult and one juvenile charged in connection with recent vehicle burglaries this week.

On Friday, the West Hartford Police responded to Warrenton Avenue after receiving reports of a vehicle burglary in progress. Officers located two people on foot in the area, with one of them fleeing on foot.

The suspect was captured quickly and found to be one of two people responsible for multiple vehicle burglaries into unlocked cars in the area. The second suspect was found to be a juvenile.

The pair was found to be in possession of a screwdriver, flashlights and many stolen items.

Luis Sanchez, 21, of Hartford was charged with Third Degree Burglary, Sixth Degree Larceny, Criminal Trespass, Possession of Burglary Tools and Interfering with an Officer. He was issued a $10,000.00 surety bond, but was not able to post it and was held.

He was issued a criminal court date of Dec. 1 in Hartford.

The juvenile was also charged with Burglary, Larceny, Criminal Trespass, Possession of Burglary Tools and Interfering with an Officer for giving a false name. He was issued a court date of Nov. 29 at Juvenile Court in Hartford.

While the suspects were captured in an area recently targeted for home and vehicle burglaries, they have not been charged with those crimes. Police are investigating links to any other crimes in West Hartford involving the two suspects.
