West Hartford Police Charge Man with Holiday Season Package Thefts

WEST HARTFORD, CT - Police said they arrested a man on charges stemming from package thefts that occurred during the holiday season.

Police said a number of package thefts were reported in early December, during which time one resident was able to record images of a suspect taking a package off his porch on Beverly Road, according to a release.

The Hartford Police Department was recently able to locate a suspect wearing the same clothing. The suspect has been identified as 21-year old Isaiah Riggins.

The suspect was interviewed and determined to have been involved in many of the thefts. Many of the thefts occurred in the area near Farmington Avenue and Prospect Avenue.

On January 23 and January 31, Riggins was charged in total with five counts of larceny, criminal trespass and simple trespass.

He is scheduled for a February 1 court date.
