West Hartford Police Department to Hold Open House this Weekend

The department to attract applicants that have not previously considered a career in law enforcement.

The West Hartford Police Department, as have police organizations in general, seen a dramatic decrease in the number of applicants interested in the position of a police officer.

With the goal of increasing the number of applicants and to attract applicants that have not previously considered a career in law enforcement the department will be hosting an Career Open House on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2016 from 12 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.

  • An explanation of the hiring process by Town Employee Services.
  • WHPD standards and qualifications as explained by a background investigator.
  • A chance to discuss daily activities and career opportunities with various members of the police department.
  • A tour of the department.
  • Equipment displays.
  • Application packets will be available.

Light refreshments will be served.
