He will appear in court on Friday, Feb. 9, and is still in police custody.
Also, police said, Nicole Beagle, 40, of no certain address, was charged with second-degree breach of peace; interfering with a police officer; and second-degree violation of conditions of release.
According to the latest court records, Beagle has been released on bond and will next appear in Hartford Superior Court on March 30. She was arraigned on Jan. 25.
Police said the couple verbally argued with a store employee over "an attempted purchase of some items."
During the dispute, police said the employee held a baseball bat and the male suspect pulled a handgun on the worker.
That's when the gun was fired, but the bullet hit no one, police said.
Arriving officers took the couple into custody after a struggle, police said, with officers requiring the use of a Taser to subdue the male suspect along with physical restraints.
The body camera footage released by police Monday shows that struggle, with the male suspect being pulled from a vehicle, shirtless, after being Tasered.
Beagle was then apprehended as she approached the scene, footage that was captured on a WHPD dashboard camera.
