WEST HARTFORD, CT — Many of us just love to collect "stuff" and those collections stand to increase with the onset of the holiday season.

But what can be done when a collection of "stuff" evolves into a pile of "clutter" — or a much stronger word not suitable for publication?

The Town of West Hartford is hosting a multi-week program starting next month that aims to help folks tack the problem of a cluttered household and it is seeking registrants now.

The program, according to the town, is a "self-help and support group for individuals who have too much stuff and want to declutter their lives."

Each session will focus on a chapter from the book, "Buried in Treasures."

Participants, the town said, will:

• Gain increased insight and awareness into patterns of acquiring, saving and hoarding.

• Receive support from others.

• Develop strategies to de-clutter your home.

• Change problematic acquiring and discarding behaviors.

While the program is free, registration is required as space is limited.
