Fatal Bristol Shooting Impacts WH Police, Fire

WEST HARTFORD, CT — The tragic shooting deaths Wednesday night of two Bristol Police Department officers has not only shaken Bristol to its core, it's impacted other towns as well.

The West Hartford Police Department Thursday morning posted an image of the BPD's seal with a black stripe through it to mourn the loss of the two law enforcers killed while responding to a domestic incident.

"The West Hartford Police Department offers our deepest condolences to our brothers and sisters of the Bristol Police Department," wrote the department via social media.

"Our hearts are with the officers, families, friends, and entire Bristol community during this incredibly difficult time.

"Please keep BPD, and the entire Bristol community, in your thoughts and prayers."

Meanwhile, West Hartford Fire Department firefighters also released a statement on the tragedy, posting a similar image as the WHPD.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the Bristol Police Department and their families in this difficult time," posted West Hartford Firefighters Local 1241 via social media.

West Hartford's public works department also posted messages of support.

"Public works grieves with our partners in the WHPD, the Bristol Police Department, and the Bristol community," wrote the West Hartford Department of Public Works on Twitter.
