Town officials said traffic flaggers will help direct motorists and pedestrians around the work zone.
"Motorists are reminded to use caution while traveling on the milled surface and be alert for raised manhole structures," wrote the town. "Please seek alternate routes and avoid the area if possible."
Meanwhile, the town said the MDC will complete the restoration of Newington Road (Route 173) following their water main replacement project.
Milling and paving are scheduled from Sunday evening, July 9, through Wednesday, July 12 (weather depending).
Due to the unusually high traffic volume in the project area, the state Department of Transportation requires this work to be performed overnight from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
"Please seek alternate routes and avoid the area if possible," wrote the town.
