West Hartford Unveils New App to Report Potholes, More Around Town

Residents can submit location, details and photos with the application.

Potholes giving you fits? Well, there’s an app for that.

West Hartford recently unveiled a new cell phone application that allows residents to submit concerns, such as potholes, vandalism street light outages and more, to town officials.

Residents can use the YourGov app to submit issues, complete with location, details and photos. Users can download the app on their computer and Apple and Android mobile devices.

Once submitted, YourGOV will automatically deliver requests to appropriate manager within the Department of Public Works where they will review and schedule a repair, according to town officials. YourGov works in conjunction with Cartegraph, DPW’s day-to-day management operations system.

Follow these steps to report a problem:

First go to https://yourgov.cartegraph.com/ and enter ‘West Hartford, CT’ in the location box. Click on + sign to add your complaint.

1) Enter the street address

2) Select from one of 15 issue types, and type a description

3) Click on the orange SUBMIT button

You have the option of uploading a photograph to go with your message. Residents have an opportunity to create an account or to use the system anonymously.

The new online service went into effect on February 27 when the town’s new website went live. Prior to YourGov, residents would call the office and staff would enter the information into Cartegraph.

Over time, the Department of Public Works expects YourGov to reduce call volume and streamline services.
