West Hartford Woman Charged with ID Theft for Incident Involving Tolland Resident

State police said bogus bills were showing up in a Tolland resident's name.

TOLLAND, CT — A West Hartford Woman has been charged with third-degree identity theft after a Tolland resident began receiving mystery bills from. among others, an online clothing catalog company, state police said.

Aisha McClary, 35, of West Hartford, surrendered to state police at the Troop C barracks. She posted a $1,000 bond and is due in Rockville Superior Court on Oct. 12, state police said.

One of the charges was from a company called Midnight Velvet, a clothing catalog and another from Masseys, state police said.

The bills were as high as $528, according to an arrest warrant.

State police eventually traced the orders to an IP address belonging to McClary, according to an arrest warrant.
