West Hartford's Park Road Slated For Community Cleanup

WEST HARTFORD, CT - The community is invited to the Park Road Association and many Park Road neighbors and business leaders for Spring Clean Up Day on Saturday, April 27.

The event will be from 9 a.m. to noon.

Volunteers are needed and should meet on the patio at Playhouse on Park (244 Park Road) at 8:45 a.m.

"You do not need to sign up to participate, just show up," wrote the association. "If you have a Park Road T-shirt of any kind, wear it."

Should it rain, the event will be Sunday, April 28, from 9 a.m. to noon.

A decision will be made by 7 a.m. on Saturday and posted on the Park Road Facebook Page.

Those on the Park Road email distribution list will receive an email. Join the mailing list at www.ParkRoadCT.org.

The Park Road Association will provide disposable gloves and garbage bags and volunteers are encouraged to bring any additional tools they desire (garbage pickers, garden gloves).

Each of five groups will follow a predetermined route.

Visit www.ParkRoadCT.org, click on Beautification Club, and then walk maps for an idea on different routes.

Event hosts will drive around and collect full garbage bags and issue empty garbage bags throughout the morning.

Dumpsters are available behind AC Petersen Farms and Effie’s Place.

Bathrooms and sinks are also available at Playhouse on Park.

Children are welcome, but must be accompanied by an adult and some routes are more “child friendly.”
