Woman Hit By Vehicle In West Hartford: Police
Comes amid townwide push to promote traffic and pedestrian safety.
WEST HARTFORD, CT — With the town already on high alert in a battle against accidents and pedestrian incidents, West Hartford police Wednesday night reported another vehicle-versus-pedestrian collision.
But, thankfully, police said the incident resulted in "non-life-threatening injuries."
According to the WHPD, at 7:38 p.m. Wednesday, police were called to Prospect Avenue near the Kane Street Plaza for a report of a female pedestrian struck by a vehicle.

"Upon arrival, first responders provided medical aid to the pedestrian," police wrote in a statement late Wednesday night. "She was later transported to an area hospital for evaluation and treatment of what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries."
Police said the operator/vehicle involved remained at the scene of the collision.

As a result of the collision, Prospect Avenue was closed to traffic in both directions between Park Road and Kane Street.
This incident remains under active investigation by members of the West Hartford Police Department Traffic Division.
This latest incident comes more than three months after a spate of fatal incidents in West Hartford prompted local leaders to commit to a push to promote traffic and pedestrian safety.
Police are still looking for a suspect vehicle believed responsible for a fatal hit-and-run incident last December.
