Beach, Park Access Limited In West Haven After Incidents: Reports
Officials are limiting the hours at West Haven beaches in the wake of a massive beach party that included around 2,000 people on Monday.

WEST HAVEN, CT — Officials are limiting the hours at West Haven beaches in the wake of a massive beach party that included around 2,000 people and saw multiple police officers injured on Monday, according to multiple reports, including the New Haven Register.
The Register reports Mayor Dorinda Borer has ordered that all city parks will be closed from sunset to sunrise until further notice in response to the incidents.
Borer’s order extends to all public recreational areas between April and South streets in West Haven, according to the Register.

NBC Connecticut reports Borer is also considering suspending some bus stops and is working with the state Department of Transportation in an effort to be alerted if large outside groups are entering the West Haven.
The large beach party started around 3 p.m. on Monday and was advertised on social media, WFSB 3 previously reported.

The crowd was made up of mostly juveniles, and an officer suffered minor injuries during the incident.
Police also responded to a shooting around 7 p.m. on Monday in which a passerby suffered minor injuries when they were shot at Best Gas on Campell Avenue, according to WFSB 3.
NBC Connecticut reports 12 people have been arrested in connection with the incidents.
Borer said more arrests are expected in connection with the beach fight due to the city’s new camera system on the boardwalk that captured still photos and license plates.
Stratford closed two of its beaches early on Tuesday in "anticipation of a large gathering of youth and out of an abundance of caution,” officials said.
