Update: Kyle Navin Fails to Enter Plea in Murder of His Parents, Girlfriend Pleads Not Guilty

Update 1:10 p.m.:
According to Fox 61, Kyle Navin did not enter a plea at his arraignment Tuesday on charges that he allegedly murdered his parents. Navin appeared before Superior Court Judge Robert Devlin in Bridgeport. Fox 61 said it was mutually agreed to that the murder case would be continued until December 16 when his attorney, Eugene Riccio will either request a probable cause hearing or Navin will enter a plea.

Jennifer Valiante, 31, of Westport plead not guilty in court Tuesday to conspiracy charges in relation to the deaths of her boyfriend’s parents, according to the Hartford Courant.
Valiante was charged with conspiracy to commit murder and first-degree hindering prosecution. She has denied having any involvement in the murders.
Jeffrey Navin, 56, and his wife Jeanette Navin, 55, mysteriously disappeared Aug. 4. Police investigators said their son Kyle is the last known person to have seen them. After a months-long investigation and search, their bodies were discovered on a vacant Weston property, under a tarp, Oct. 29.
On Aug. 4 security cameras captured video of someone driving Jeffrey Navin’s garbage truck on Center Road in Easton toward Jeffrey and Jeanette’s residence. Cameras captured a vehicle driven by Kyle Navin’s girlfriend following closely behind the truck. About 29 minutes later, security camera captures video of the vehicle of Kyle Navin’s girlfriend driving away from the Navin residence.
Kyle Navin, 27, is charged with two counts of murder and murder with special circumstances as well as a weapons offense. He has been incarcerated since early September in an unrelated federal weapons charge.
Two weeks before Jeanette Navin disappeared she told a friend she was fed up with her son over his drug addiction and failure to pay them back, the warrant states. Jeanette Navin said they planned to remove their son from the will and cut him off financially.
Texts between Kyle Navin and his girlfriend reveal that money was on his mind, the warrant states.
“We need to figure out what the best way to take them down whether it is get some money out of them somehow (expletive) him at the business the house something we got to figure out I’m got to be real smart and do it quick, according to the arrest warrant.
Another text between the two states, “It would solve every single problem and give us a wealthy amazing life.”
On Thursday, Oct. 29, the owner of 89 Norfield Road in Weston told police his landscapers found something suspicious on his property.
The Navin’s bodies were discovered under a blue tarp bound with duct tape under a pile of brush. The property had been unoccupied for the past 10 years.
Jeffrey Navin owned Westport-based J&J Refuse Company. Kyle was the Operations Manager, according to their website. Jeanette Navin was a paraprofessional at Weston Intermediate School. Court documents state that Kyle killed his parents after learning they planned to sell the family business and cut him out of their will.
The State’s Medical Examiner James Gill said their the cause of death was gunshot wounds and that both of their deaths were homicides.
