Weston artist PABELLO to Exhibit in NYC

NEW YORK, NY – Chelsea's Agora Gallery will feature the original work of Weston artist PABELLO in Fragmented Reality.

Born in São Paulo, Brazil, PABELLO began working at a young age to support his family. When he immigrated to the United States in the late nineties, he spoke no English and had to work menial jobs to sustain himself. The subsequent years brought many changes, and eventually PABELLO was able to turn his attention fully to art. Particularly inspired by the Austrian artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser, whose freeing style he applauds, PABELLO creates his mixed media and acrylic paintings from a studio in Weston, Connecticut, where he resides.

PABELLO compares his artwork to a live music performance suddenly muted. The visual is there, but the viewers must create the sound for themselves. PABELLO draws his inspiration from the world around him, translating music, movies, and cities into his own visual language. He describes his process as “moving freely between mental images and cultural explorations.” Reflecting on his journey, his marriage, and his artistic career, PABELLO is ecstatic. “What more can I ask for,” he says. “I think I am the luckiest man on earth.”

About the Exhibition

Fragmented Reality: An Exhibition in NYC

With gusto and energy, Agora Gallery’s exhibition Fragmented Reality boasts over one hundred artworks by twenty artists. Angela Di Bello and her team have curated a remarkable exhibition which stages an interrogation of the dynamic balance of feminine and masculine energies while eschewing both romanticism and politics. Instead it solicits contemplation of three focused concepts: the interpretation of humans and animals within a shared environment; portraiture and abstract landscapes; and opposing forces, such as happiness and sadness, pleasure and pain. Presiding over the stunning visual space, the participating artists have conjured an airy grace from an immense application of bright colors and mixed media which all come together effortlessly in this comprehensive exhibition of fine art.
