Weston, Redding High Schools Ranked Among Best in U.S. in Latest U.S. News Report

U.S. News & World Report released new public high school rankings this week. Find out where where Weston and Redding ranked.

WESTON/REDDING, CT - U.S. News & World Report in a just released report concludes that 25 Connecticut Public High Schools are among the nation’s top 1,000.

To view that list click here. Weston High School is ranked at No. 184 by U.S. News & World Report, which only ranked the top 48 public high schools in Connecticut. Redding's Joel Barlow High School which also serves Easton students was ranked at No. 605 nationally.

According to the report, Joel Barlow High School has a college readiness score of 52.2. Weston High School's college readiness score is 71.5. A college readiness score pertains to students performance on standardized tests and a higher number is considered better here.

For comparison the No. 1 ranked Connecticut public high school has a college readiness score of 92.8 percent and a graduation rate of 98 percent.

Weston High’s AP participation rate is 74 percent, while Joel Barlow's is 56 percent.

Weston High School has 774 students. The high school’s graduation rate is 99 percent.

Joel Barlow High School has 1,064 students. The high school’s graduation rate is 97 percent.
