Lucky Brand Returns To Westport (patch.com) — Shoppers in Westport will see Lucky Brand return to Main Street this Friday with a new store at 125 Main St., several years after its previous location closed during the company’s bankruptcy. The denim-focused retailer says the shop will offer a full range of men’s and women’s jeans, apparel, and on-trend styles, joining three other Connecticut locations while renewing its presence in town.
2. Husband Accused Of Harassing Wife's Former Boss After Firing: Westport Police (patch.com) — Westport police report that a Danbury man was arrested after allegedly making threatening calls and texts to a local cleaning business owner following the firing of his wife. Investigators say the messages included a threat against the victim’s daughter, leading to an arrest warrant, his transfer to Westport Police Headquarters, and a scheduled Stamford court appearance on June 25.
3. Ducks and flags converge on Jesup Green June 27 (westportjournal.com) — Jesup Green in Westport will be buzzing on Saturday, June 27, with the 61st annual jUNe Day welcoming United Nations guests and the family-friendly Great Duck Race fundraiser. Residents can watch international flags on the Ruth Steinkraus-Cohen Bridge, enjoy games, food trucks, and the Nerdy Derby, and buy raffle tickets that support local and global charities.
4. WFM introduces 'Sprout & Share' (westportjournal.com) — Westport home gardeners are being asked to bring extra produce to the Westport Farmers Market each Thursday this season for the newly branded Sprout & Share donation program. Starting June 28, volunteers will deliver your fruits, veggies, and herbs to Homes with Hope’s Gillespie Center, turning backyard abundance into fresh food for neighbors facing insecurity across Fairfield County.
5. 'Trauma season' begins as experts warn of spike in summer injuries among children (news12.com) — Health and safety experts gathered at Connecticut Children’s Specialty Care Center in Westport to warn families about a summer spike in child injuries from hot cars, water, bikes, and fireworks. Westport Fire Marshal Terry Dunn urged close supervision with sparklers, keeping them away from hair and clothing, and dousing used ones in water, while reminding residents that all aerial or explosive fireworks are illegal in Connecticut.
