Another Suspect Arrested In Westport Carjacking Case: Police
The 22-year-old Waterbury resident is the third suspect arrested in the case.

WESTPORT, CT — A 22-year-old Waterbury man has been arrested in connection with the Sept. 17 carjacking in Westport, in which a homeowner was beaten and his Aston Martin convertible was stolen.
Garrett Gibbs was arrested on a warrant Friday, after "utilizing various law enforcement techniques" to find him in Waterbury, according to Westport Police Lt. Eric Woods.
Police charged Gibbs with the following:

- Home invasion
- First-degree burglary
- Robbery by carjacking
- Third-degree assault
- First-degree larceny
- Conspiracy to commit first-degree larceny
- First-degree robbery
"Westport Police Detectives are still working this case and anticipate additional arrests," Woods said in a statement.
Gibbs is the third person arrested in the case, joining 16-year-old Waterbury resident Giovanni Lopez, and 39-year-old Berlin resident Derrick McGill, who police said operated the "chop shop" where the Aston Martin was located not long after it was stolen.

Lopez, who remains in custody, and Gibbs are facing similar charges, because police believe they are the two who assaulted the victim. A third person who drove the two to the scene remains at-large.
Gibbs is being held in lieu of bail of $500,000, and is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Oct. 16.
