Victim ID'd In Fatal I-95 Crash In Fairfield
The 12:45 a.m. crash involved a vehicle and a tractor-trailer truck.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A 26-year-old Shelton woman was killed early Friday when the vehicle she was driving was rear-ended by a tractor-trailer on southbound Interstate 95 in Fairfield, according to state police.
Cathi Anne Silva was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which occurred around 12:45 a.m. between Exits 18 and 19 near the border with Westport. Silva's car was pinned under the front of the truck's trailer just behind the tractor's rear wheels, the Fairfield Fire Department said in a Facebook post.
The driver of the truck, Ernesto Gamboa Gorajuria, 36, of Hialeah, Florida, suffered minor injuries. He did not require treatment in a hospital.

Troopers discovered the crash after they were called for a report of a tractor-trailer on fire. Traffic was snarled on the thruway after the incident, as I-95 southbound remained closed for hours.
