Jazz at Lincoln Center Talent at MoCA Westport!
Concerts by Jazz at Lincoln Center Emerging Artists in May and June
DON'T MISS THESE RISING STARS! MoCA Westport is thrilled to collaborate with Jazz at Lincoln Center to present artists from their Jazz at Lincoln Center Emerging Artist Series.
On Saturday, May 21, join the Museum for Camille Thurman and the Darrell Green Quartet. Thurman is a composer, multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, and unique interpreter of the jazz tradition. Thurman was described by NPR as, "...a double threat: The rare jazz musician who has mastered both a highly technical instrument — in her case, the saxophone — and sings. Thurman's vocals have been compared to Ella Fitzgerald."
On Saturday, June 11, the Sean Mason Quintet will take the stage displaying their many different styles of jazz, spanning across multiple time periods. Mason is a fantastic young musician who was featured in Jazz at Lincoln Center’s larger venues, Rose Theater and The Appel Room, as a part of Ellington Through the Ages with Wynton Marsalis and Danny Barker: A New Orleans Life in Jazz alongside a collective of elite New Orleans musicians.
