Man Stole Israel Flag Signs From Yards In Westport: Police

The man was arrested on a warrant, according to police.

WESTPORT, CT — A New York man is accused of stealing five Israel flag yard signs from a neighborhood in Westport, according to police.

William Banks, 27, was arrested Tuesday in connection with the thefts that took place in the Colony Road area on Dec. 30.

While investigating the complaint, police said the officer saw a man driving a white vehicle steal another yard sign and leave the area.

The investigation found that five Israel Flag signs in total were stolen, according to police.

Banks was identified as the suspect through investigation, and police obtained a warrant. He turned himself into the Westport Police Department on Tuesday, according to police.

Banks, of Brooklyn, New York, was charged with sixth-degree larceny. He was released after posting a $500 bond with a court date of March 19.
