Pokémon GO Players Receive a Warning in this CT Community
Could other communities issue the same warnings?
Editor’s Note: Patch is re-running this popular story in case you missed it the first time around.
MIDDLETOWN, CT — If you plan on playing Pokémon GO in Middletown, please avoid the Veterans Memorial Green on Washington Terrace and the cemeteries, Mayor Daniel Drew requests.
The mayor warned players that the locations are solemn places where people "pay their respects" to the deceased, and should not be disturbed by game play, reports NBC Connecticut News. Additionally, the sites have seen an increase in litter and property damage, and if that continues the police department may have to get involved.

Other areas of the city are OK for players of the popular mobile game, according to Drew, but planned large gatherings of players should receive pre-approval from the Department of Public Works.
