​Residents Invited to Share Their Promise to the Planet​

WESTPORT, CT - Sustainable Westport is excited to launch the "Make a Promise" campaign, which encourages residents to commit to small, sustainable actions that can have a big impact on the community and the environment. As part of the campaign, Westport residents are invited to visit the Sustainable Westport website to share their personal sustainability promises, which will be highlighted on the organization's website and social media channels.

The campaign is anchored by an inspiring video that features real Westport residents making their own "promises" - from shopping locally whenever possible to eliminating single-use plastics to simply “buying less stuff.” Filmed in scenic locations across town, the video showcases Westport’s natural beauty and the meaningful steps residents are taking to protect it.

"Every person has the power to make a difference, and we believe that small, personal commitments can inspire others to take action," said Johanna Martell, Co-Director of Sustainable Westport. "Through the 'Make a Promise' campaign, we hope to encourage action and build community amongst Westport residents who want to do their best to ‘live more sustainably.”

Residents can visit the Make a Promise website page to submit their own promises, which can range from everyday actions to longer-term lifestyle changes. Promises will be added to the organization's website, and select pledges will be featured on Sustainable Westport's Instagram and Facebook. pages.

"Whether it's riding your bike to work, reducing food waste, or supporting local businesses, every promise counts," added Martell. "We encourage all Westport residents to join us in making small changes and big commitments toward a more sustainable future."
