Thomas Parrino Elected President of the Connecticut Chapter AAML
The Connecticut Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers elected Westport-based attorney Thomas Parrino as its president.

WESTPORT, Conn., Sept. 8, 2014 -- The Connecticut Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers elected Westport-based attorney Thomas Parrino, co-founder and principal of Nusbaum & Parrino PC, as its next president.
AAML is a nonprofit membership organization that encourages the study, improves the practice, elevates the standards and advances the cause of matrimonial law. Parrino has been a fellow of the AAML since 2001.
Parrino has been practicing family law for more than 30 years handling some of the most intricate and high-asset family law litigation in Connecticut. Considered a top attorney in his field, Parrino is a dynamic negotiator and litigator. He represents clients in all areas of family law, including divorce, alimony, child support, property division and child custody. In 2013, Parrino earned the designation Lawyer of the Year as selected by peer recognition and published by Best Lawyers.

Parrino is admitted to practice in the State of Connecticut, and the U.S. District Court, District of Connecticut. He is also a member of the American, Connecticut and Fairfield County Bar associations, and the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association.
Parrino serves as a member of Connecticut’s Family Law Commission, which is composed of Connecticut Superior Court Judges and select Connecticut attorneys who have been invited to serve as members.

Parrino serves as a delegate to the National Board of Governors of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, in which he previously served as chair of the National Admissions Committee, and served as a member of the National Test Subcommittee. Additionally, Parrino is a fellow of the International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.
Parrino also serves or has served on a number of boards and committees for the Connecticut Chapter of AAML, including, representative to the Board of Governors, 2009 to present; Examining Committee, 2009 to present; chairman, Judicial Seminar Committee, Board of Managers, 2007 to present; chairman, Practice Book Rules Committee, 2008; National Test Subcommittee, 2005 to present; Connecticut Chapter Seminar Complex Issues in Family Law; Connecticut Chapter Nominating Committee, 2004; National Federalization of Family Law Committee, 2003; chairman, Judge’s Seminar Committee; Connecticut Chapter Examining Committee, 2011-2012, chair; chair of Admissions Committee; vice president of Connecticut Chapter; and member of CLE Committee.
Parrino volunteers his time as a court-appointed special master in Stamford, Bridgeport and Middletown Superior Courts for family law cases. Throughout his career, he has lectured extensively on family law matters.
Parrino earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Connecticut and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Bridgeport.
