Westport Book Shop Celebrates First Anniversary

The Westport Book Shop is celebrating the first anniversary of its opening with activities, discounts and prizes all week.

WESTPORT, CT — The Westport Book Shop is celebrating the first anniversary of its opening with activities, discounts and prizes all week.

According to a news release, the store is downtown Westport's only nonprofit used book shop, offering "previously read and greatly appreciated" books, hard to find out-of-print and antiquarian books, vintage vinyl records, CDs, DVDs and audio books.

This week's celebration will take place Tuesday-Sunday and include the following events:

Children’s Scavenger Hunt — Win a free book! All week beginning Tuesday, Jan. 25, children can participate in a scavenger hunt inside the Book Shop, finding interesting facts about the book shop's first year.

Everyone Loves a Cookie! — First 100 visitors on Jan. 28 will receive an anniversary cookie, made especially for the occasion by the bakers of Sweet P Bakery.

Receive a Discount or Prize When You Visit the Book Shop — From Friday through Sunday, every visitor to the book shop will be eligible for a door prize or a discount with purchase.

Tell Us What You Love About the Book Shop — Leave an anniversary note. Visitors to the book shop are invited to post an anniversary note on the shop's giant anniversary greeting card. Participants can look for their notes on the book shop's Instagram or Facebook pages.

The Westport Book Shop is located at 23 Jesup Road, right across Jesup Green from the Westport Library. It is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Sundays from noon to 5 p.m.
