Westport Police to Start Carrying Narcan in Fight Against Drug Overdoses
Narcan, the brand name for naloxone, comes in a nasal spray.

WESTPORT, CT — Westport police officers next month will begin carrying the antidote Narcan to help save the lives of people who overdose on opioids, according to officials.
Narcan, the brand name for naloxone, is a nasal spray that if administered to an overdose victim in time, can reverse the effects of opiods, writes the Westport News.
Officers will receive training in how to administer the antidote. Westport Emergency Medical Technicians already carry the spray when responding to calls.
