Westport Woman Arrested on Impaired Driving Charge

WESTPORT, CT - A 31-year-old Westport woman was arrested on a warrant this week in connection with a car crash in September 2015 in which police said she was under the influence of drugs at the time.

Jennifer Edvardsen was arrested at her Westport home Monday. According to police, she crashed her vehicle into a parked car on Sept. 25, and police obtained a search warrant for Edvardsen's toxicology records from the night of the accident. Those records "revealed that she was under the influence of Amphetamines and Benzodiazepines" at the time of the crash, according to police.

Edvardsen was charged with Operating Under the Influence of Drugs/Alcohol and Operating Under Suspension. She was released after posting a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on May 5.
