WESTPORT, CT — A 39-year-old Westport woman, who was convicted as an accomplice in a double murder, was arrested this week by Westport police, after she failed to register with the Connecticut State Police Deadly Weapon Offender Registry Unit following her incarceration.

Jennifer Valiante turned herself in at Westport Police Headquarters on Monday and was charged with Violation of Deadly Weapon Offender Registry, a class D felony.

Westport police said Valiante failed to register, which she was required to do, based on her 2018 conviction as an accomplice in the 2015 murders of Jeffrey and Jeanette Navin of Easton. Their son, Kyle Navin, who is Valiante's former boyfriend, was sentenced to 55 years in prison for the murders.
