Police: Man Arrested in Wethersfield Tied to Credit Card Crimes
He is back in court next month.

WETHERSFIELD, CT - Local police on Thursday said a Florida man man arrested in town in April now faces 90 felony charges for allegedly being part of a multi-state credit card fraud ring aimed at retailers.
Local police said they found 61 fraudulent credit cards on Davislay Gonzalez, 27, of Hialeah, Fla. He was charged locally in April with fifth-degree larceny, identity theft and forgery, local police said.
The Hartford Courant examined court documents, which showed that 44 counts each of conspiracy to commit identity theft and conspiracy to commit second-degree forgery were added to his case.

Court records indicate he was being held on bonds totaling $95,000 and is due back in Superior Court in New Britain on July 14.
Local police said they passed on information about the case to the federal and state authorities.

The Courant reported that court papers indicate Gonzalez confessed to a detective, then pulled a sock from his underwear containing 17 fraudulent credit cards, three gift cards valued at $800, and a fake Texas driver's license with his photo and the name "Wilver Santo," the same as on the cards.
Police say they later found merchandise purchased at from major retailers in Gonzalez's Wethersfield motel room.
