We're officially into the dog days of summer, which means perhaps those steamy hours on the beach or the golf course are starting to lose some of their early summer luster.

So as the jellyfish make their annual August trek into the area's waters, and the golf courses turn that unpleasant brown hue, let us suggest taking a day trip through Fairfield County and a few places to stop along the way.
