Advocate: CIAC Approves New Football Playoff System
The Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference decides to overhaul its playoff system for football in response to some good teams being left out of this year's postseason.

According to the Stamford Advocate, the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference announced this morning that it will overhaul its playoff system, largely in response to a number of top-flight teams that are expected to be left out of the postseason this year.
At it currently stands, there are six divisions in the CIAC and four teams from each division go on to the state playoffs. Next year, instead, there will be four divisions and eight teams from each will qualify, meaning that eight more teams will be able to compete for a shot at the state title.
