The Yoga Shala is pleased to announce its expansion into a Center for Ashtanga Yoga, Ayurveda and Therapeutic Massage from its new location at 49 Ethan Allen Highway (Route 7). After eight years at its former Wilton address, The Yoga Shala moved just .40 miles up Route 7 to be able to provide additional offerings to the community.
“As the only dedicated Ashtanga yoga school in Connecticut, I wanted to create a beautiful space for students to not only practice ashtanga but also to benefit from the complementary practices of ayurveda and massage,” said Director Valerie Schneiderman. “These additional offerings also have the effect of benefiting the entire Ridgefield, Redding, Wilton, Weston and Georgetown communities as they are available to non-students as well,” added Schneiderman.
Established in 2003, The Yoga Shala provides daily ashtanga yoga classes for all levels; youth sessions; 200-hour teacher training programs; and special workshops taught by guest instructors throughout each year. A six-week introduction to yoga series for beginners will be conducted this Fall. For students and non-students, certified health counselor Debbie Kadagian offers ayurvedic counseling and cleanses, while licensed massage therapist Lorin “Oni” Ingber practices structural integration, trigger point therapy, reiki and ayurvedic massage.
