Aquarion Plan for Wilton Water Diversion 'Deficient:' Report
Some of these deficiencies, such as the absence of a hydrologic budget, prevent a proper evaluation of the permit, the report says
WILTON, CT — The state is looking carefully at Aquarion's water diversion application, and wants the public to participate.
Aquarion has submitted an application with the state to remove one million gallons of water per day from a well in Cannondale at 3 Cannon Road, where there is a large aquifer. The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection is holding an informational meeting about Aquarion’s permit application on Tuesday, Feb. 26.
A report from Langan CT, Inc., dated Jan. 31, lists a number of deficiencies in the application as filed. Some of these deficiencies, such as the absence of a hydrologic budget, prevent a proper evaluation of the permit, the report says.

Langan also believes that a copy of the well “as-built” construction detail and boring log
associated with the project should be made a part of the permit application.
The review, written by Langan senior associate Brian Blum, is overall critical of the thoroughness of the application, and cites the absence of any indication of impact on the nearby YMCA pond and other wetlands.
