Wilton Patch Attends the LeBron James Media Circus
Editor Christian Camerota and Videographer Chris Fiftal drink in the frenzy in Greenwich.
Decision Day: 7:45 p.m.
There are around 1,000 people in Greenwich, packing the streets around the Boys and Girls Club. They're all here to catch a glimpse of someone they're not even sure they'll see: LeBron James.
As the media circus descends upon the normally subdued suburban Connecticut town, it's funny to see so many people attending on the faint hope of spying a sports superstar.

"The King," as he is known, is supposed to announce his choice at 9:00 p.m. after an ESPN-run hour-long special. Or perhaps some might say set-up.
Reports from that network, whose headquarters are conveniently just up the road in Bristol, point to James joining fellow All-Stars Chris Bosh and Dwayne Wayde on the Miami Heat.

Knicks and Celtics fans outside the Boys and Girls Club, however, seem to have other ideas.
Unsubstantiated reports said James arrived around 8:20 through the back door of an adjoining building. Meanwhile, fire engines and police motorcycles occasionally crawling by to keep crowds on the sidewalks have aroused the most attention.
8:50 p.m.
Intermittently "New-York-Knicks" chants have been rising from the crowd, but the more frequent chorus has been the oft-repeated "Please Move to the Sidewalk" by Greenwich police officers.
ESPN counting down the minutes to 9 p.m. on the radio broadcast.
9:08 p.m.
Now reports from the AP indicating LeBron arrived around 8:50 p.m. through a side door wearing lavendar shirt and jeans. Lavendar is somewhere between Miam's white and Knicks' blue, no? Maybe Carolina then?
9:23 p.m.
@GreenwichSports tweets "Reporter Fierro says the streets outside Boys and Girls club are "swarming with people." and 'It's getting dangerous.'"
Not quite dangerous. More like sleepy, annoyed, expectant, bored, hungry, sweaty, bug-bitten.
9:45 p.m.
LeBron is officially going to the Miami Heat. A huge chorus of "Booos" rang out from the crowd when the announcement came.
Spectators give the decision a mixed reception afterward. Most seem disappointed by the anticlimactic event and frustrated that James did not acknowledge the hundreds of fans gathered outside.
A young Cavaliers fan said he thought James was "selfish" and that his former team and its fans deserved better.
A man carrying a signed saying simply "LeBum" received more attention than those gathered got to show The King this evening; it felt a spectacle for spectacle's sake.
