Bestselling Author Barbara Taylor Bradford at Wilton Library April 1

Bestselling author Barbara Taylor Bradford visits Wilton Library on Tuesday, April 1, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. to share her latest endeavor, Cavendon Hall, with her devoted fans.  A prolific writer, Ms. Bradford has written 28 international bestsellers with more than 88 million copies sold worldwide in 90 countries and 40 languages.  Her stories are made for viewing and ten of them have been fashioned into miniseries and television movies starring actors including Liam Neeson, Anthony Hopkins, Jenny Seagrove, Deborah Kerr, Sir John Mills and Elizabeth Hurley.

The latest novel tells the riveting tale of two families whose lives have been intertwined for generations.  Set over a period of sixteen years from 1913 to 1929, the families face uncertainties including a war that will forever change them.

Ms. Bradford was born and raised in England and started writing fiction at just seven years old. She sold her first short story to a magazine when she was 10.  Her first novel, A Woman of Substance, published in 1975 went from bestseller to super seller within its first year and stayed on the New York Times’ Bestseller list for 55 weeks.  She holds five Honorary Doctorate of Letters from universities here and abroad.  In 2007, Queen Elizabeth awarded Ms. Bradford the OBE for her literary achievements.  She lives in New York City with her husband of 49 years, television producer Robert Bradford.
