Please join us at UU Westport this Sunday, where we welcome guest preacher the Rev. Adam Dyer to be with us. The topic for the day: What Do You Worship? Unitarian Universalists often use the word "worship" to describe what happens on Sunday mornings. If many UUs reject traditional religion, why do they hold on to the word "worship"...and more importantly, what exactly are they worshipping?
Adam Lawrence Dyer is currently completing a Ph.D. in Modern and Contemporary Religious Thought at the University of Virginia where his research focus is equity, embodiment and liberal religion. He received his BA from Princeton University and his M.Div. from the Pacific School of Religion where he earned the Certificate in Sexuality and Religion and was recognized with the Paul Wesley Yinger Preaching Award. From 2017 to 2022, he was the lead minister at First Parish in Cambridge, and the Unitarian Universalist chaplain at Harvard University and is the author of a collection of meditations on blackness and liberal religion titled Love Beyond God(2016).

Please note, given the holiday weekend, there will be no Family Faith Formation programming or nursery care at this service. Families are welcome to bring their children into the sanctuary with them, or be in the foyer where they can watch the service but allow their children to "run free" a bit - with glass doors keeping things a bit quiet for the sanctuary activities.
We are in the midst of a fundraising online auction. Click here to join the fun and support the workings of our congregation. Thank you!

All are always welcome to our Unitarian Universalist services at UU Westport, offered each Sunday at 10 AM, both in person andlive-streamed online. Services usually include a time of reflection/prayer/meditation; wonderful music; readings; and a homily or sermon to lend insight into our world and how we interact with it and with each other. The Rev. Carlton E. Smith presides over our time together that includes participation from multiple congregants, guests, and friends. Music Director Micah Krajca leads our choirs. Separate children's programming and nursery care is available during the service, 10-11:15AM. Dress code is as you feel comfortable.
As always, our e-newsletter SOUNDINGS has all the information one needs to find out what's going on in our congregation. Contact the office at 203.227.7205 x 10 if you have specific questions.
UU Westport is a diverse and welcoming religious community, free of creed and dogma, and open to people of all backgrounds and beliefs. We welcome all who are in search of a non-judgmental, loving, safe community to come together to explore what it means to be human and alive in today's world, and how we can best serve one another and those around us, near and far.
Our services take place inUU Westport's iconic sanctuary building, a glorious architectural masterpiece of mid-century modernist Victor Lundy (1923-2024). The building has just undergone a major renovation and is spectacular with its soaring rooflines, sparkling glass walls, set in the woods with the beauty of nature all around it.
