Coronavirus: Custodial Staff In Quarantine Closes Wilton HS

Wilton High School will go to full remote learning for one day due to a shortage in the custodial staff.

WILTON, CT — Wilton High School will switch to remote learning on Tuesday due to a shortage in its custodial staffing.

Superintendent Kevin Smith notified families of the one-day schedule change in a letter Monday. The High School will be all remote on Wednesday, as previously scheduled. Smith said he expected the school would return to hybrid attendance for the Thursday cohort on Dec. 10.

"Transitioning the high school to remote learning on Tuesday enables us to redeploy custodial staff and keep our other three schools open for in-person instruction," Smith wrote. A "critical mass" of custodians is in quarantine, according to the superintendent, who said short-term, temporary help will be hired.
