COVID-19 In Wilton: 163 Confirmed Cases, 33 Deaths

Here are the latest, local updates on how the coronavirus outbreak is impacting Wilton.

WILTON, CT — The Connecticut Department of Public Health has confirmed that 163 cases of the new coronavirus have been reported in Wilton as of Tuesday, and 33 deaths have been attributed to COVID-19.

First Selectwoman Lynne Vanderslice announced that the town has canceled its traditional Independence Day activities, including the fireworks display. The decision was made the Board of Selectmen meeting held Monday night.

Statewide, another 648 lab-confirmed positive coronavirus cases were announced Tuesday out of 3,313 tests. Gov. Ned Lamont said that the ratio of positive to negative tests was good news. Unfortunately there were another 77 deaths as well.

There are now 30,621 confirmed coronavirus cases in Connecticut and 2,633 deaths have been reported. A total of 1,500 people are currently hospitalized.

Connecticut had a drop in hospitalizations every day since April 23.
