Bill Ziegler will again lead his popular five-part series on short stories from 10:30 am to noon at the Wilton Library on Thursdays, November 3rd, 10th, 17th, December 1st and 8th. Participants will read and discuss a variety of short stories that illustrate the characteristics of the genre and provide a basis for critical evaluation. The stories are now available at the Library's Circulation Desk. There is no charge for the program, but advance registration is required. Registering for the first session will automatically register you for all five sessions.
Bill has in the past led not only discussions of short stories at the Library but also discussions of novels here and at the Senior Center and has opened National Poetry Month at the Library with lectures on poetry and readings of his own poems. The subjects he has chosen for discussion by participants this November and December include, among others, stories by Washington Irving, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Sherwood Anderson, Langston Hughes, Isaac Bashevis Singer, Elizabeth Bishop and Amy Tan.
