The will present "Buddhism and Christianity: Is a Mix-and-Match Possible?" from 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21.
In this first in a series of three talks on Buddhism and Christianity, Paul Knitter – a Paul Tillich Professor of Theology, World Religions and Culture at Union Theological Seminary (with joint appointment to the faculty of Columbia University) – will provide a general overview of Buddhism, discussing both its tenets and their evolution, along with its variety of expression around the world and specifically in the United States. He will also discuss what Buddhism has to offer a person who is open to new ideas but still does not want to give up his or her traditional faith (with a specific focus on Christianity as that faith).
