Children in grades 1-7 are invited to join Children's Department's Chess Club instructed by Christopher Potts 4-5 p.m. on six Thursdays starting Oct. 28.
In this program, those brand new to chess will learn the history and rules of the game; basic checkmate themes and patterns; and basic strategy and tactics. Students play games and put the lessons into practice.
The program fee is $60 per student for all six meetings. In-person registration is required and payment due at the time of registration.
