Bill Zeigler will lead a discussion about Elizabeth Gaskell's classic novel, "North and South," from 10:30 a.m. to noon Friday, Dec. 3, at Wilton Library. The title indicates a major theme of the book: The contrast between the way of life in the industrial north of England and the wealthier south.
Copies of the book are available in the Book Club book area of the library for advance reading.
On Fridays, Dec. 10 and 17, the film based on the novel will be shown in two segments 10:30 to 12:30 p.m. in the Brubeck Room, with a brief question-and-answer session afterward.
All are welcome. Participants may bring a brown bag lunch, and coffee, tea, water and chips will be provided at no charge.
