Reading Rangers' 'Fun on the Farm,' Registration Required

Winter would have been a busy time at in the 19th century, with ice to harvest, stalls to clean and cows to milk. From 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Dec. 4, join a park ranger for the this month's Reading Ranger program and let your children catch a glimpse of historic farm life at Weir Farm.

The December program, "Fun on the Farm," begins with aread-aloud story in a cozy historic barn, followed by a kid-friendly walking tour of Weir Farm National Historic Site's farm buildings. After the walk, children will have the chance to create their own farm animals, to be used in some farm-themed games.

This program is appropriate forchildren in grades K-4, as it intends to introduce younger children to WeirFarm in a fun and accessible format. However, children must have a parent/guardian remain with them for the duration of the program.
