Wilton CERT Emergency Training

Wilton's "Community Emergency Response Team" (CERT) is inviting citizens to participate in their annual disaster preparedness training course starting Wednesday, October 20th. The participants will learn from experts how to protect themselves, their families, and the Wilton community in the event of a fire, large scale emergency or disaster. The interactive training covers many emergency and survival skills to prevent citizens from becoming victims. Participants will also learn basic life saving medical care including earning CPR, AED (Automated External Defibrillator), and First Aid certifications. There is no cost to attend this valuable training.

Wilton CERT is a volunteer organization affiliated with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and FEMA. At the conclusion of the 6 session training course, participants are welcome to join Wilton CERT and be part of an active community service organization. As a member of the CERT team, citizens will be given regular opportunities to provide backup support to the Wilton fire, police and EMS services in protecting and helping the Wilton community.

For further information on CERT and to register online for the upcoming training class, please visit their web site www.wiltoncert.org or call Colleen O'Brien @ 203-762-7844
