Wilton Chamber's 6th Annual Economic Forecast Breakfast

The is sponsoring its 6th  Annual Economic Forecast Breakfast on Thursday, January 12st , 8:00 AM at Marly’s Bistro in Wilton Center.  The keynote speaker is Dr. Nicholas Perna, Chief Economist of Webster Bank.

The Chamber’s “Eggs & the Economy” is an annual look at how the financial landscape is shaping up for the coming year.  Chamber President Ralph Slater said, “Certainly everyone is extremely anxious to hear an expert like Dr. Perna comment about the 2011 economic results and what is expected in 2012 for the housing market, the future for small businesses, and whether or not the political changes in Connecticut and Washington DC will have a positive effect.  Dr. Perna will also answer questions on the best investment strategies in the coming year.”

Dr. Perna is a magna cum laude graduate of Boston College and has a Ph.D in economics from MIT.  He was an economist with General Electric, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, and the President’s Council of Economic Advisers.  He has been on the faculties of Williams College and NYU’s Stern School of Business.  He currently teaches a course on the U.S. banking systems at Yale.  Dr. Perna is a Visiting Scholar at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston and is a member of Governor Jodi Rell’s Economic Advisory Board.  In 2002 he assumed his current position of Economic Advisor to Webster Financial Corporation.
