Fire Log: Wires Down and Burning
A few instances of wires down and scorching trees and MVAs mark the week.

Saturday, August 21, 2010
- 2:18 AM: Danbury Road, fire alarm. Apparent malfunction of the alarm system, no fire or hazards present.
- 4:00 PM: Main Street, New Canaan, mutual aid. Wilton FD requested to cover New Canaan Fire Headquarters due to New Canaan unit committed to a structure fire.
- 7:05 PM: Nod Hill Road, fire alarm. Apparent malfunction of the alarm system, no fire or hazards present.
- 8:12 PM: Drum Hill Road, motor vehicle accident. Two car accident with injuries.
Sunday, August 22
- 1:15 AM: Forest Lane, medical emergency. Firefighters provided patient care and assisted EMS and paramedic.
- 10:20 AM: Topfield Road, fire alarm. Accidental activation of the alarm system, no fire or hazards present.
- 3:36 PM: Danbury Road, wires down. Upon arrival FD personnel found electrical wires down across the road. Area was secured, CL&P notified.
- 6:44 PM: Canterbury Lane, wires burning. Report of a tree branch burning on electrical wires, upon arrival of FD no active burning observed. CL&P notified.
- 9:30 PM: Thayer Pond Road, electrical problem. Report arching electrical system on an air conditioning unit. FD personnel disconnected power, and advised occupant to have unit serviced.

- 11:30 AM: Thayer Pond Road, malfunctioning equipment. Report of a problem with an air conditioning unit. Upon investigation FD personnel determined it was a problem with the pump. Power to unit disconnected, resident advised to have unit serviced.
- 3:05 PM: River Road, medical emergency. Firefighters provided patient care and assisted EMS and paramedic.

- 1:02 PM: Kensett Avenue, medical emergency. Firefighters provided patient care and assisted EMS and paramedic.

- 4:14 PM: Danbury Road, medical emergency. Firefighters provided patient care and assisted EMS and paramedic.

- 11:20 AM: Woodway Lane, medical emergency. Firefighters provided patient care and assisted EMS and paramedic.
- 12:40 PM: Danbury Road, medical emergency. Firefighters provided patient care and assisted EMS and paramedic.
- 6:35 PM: Danbury Road, alarm problem. Report of an activated alarm, upon investigation FD personnel found alarm was caused by some one tampering wit an emergency exit.
